Olympic year 2012, Olympics in London/England, the 2nd ever Olympic Champions in BMX.

  • Elite men: Maris Strombergs (Latvia) (renewed his 2008 Olympic title!)

Category A1:

The nominees from the 2012 World Championships are the following Champions coming from Europe:

  • Elite women: Magalie Pottier (France)

Category A2:

2012 Supercross World Cup Series overall winners:

  • No European rider won these World Cup series.

Category A3:

The nominees from the 2012 European Championships are the following Champions:

  • Elite men: Edzus Treimanus (Latvia)
  • Elite women: Eva Ailloud (France)

Pioneer rider(s) nominated.

Category B1:

Pioneer (non racers) nomination(s):

  • 1st:  Special recognition for Dave Duffield (Halfords - GBR) 

    Motivation: Pioneer in BMX from the business side of things. Organiser of the first International BMX event in Reddtich in 1980. Promoting and supporting BMX during the pioneer years of development of our sport in England.

  • 2nd:  Special recognition for Scott Dick (GBR)

    Pioneer organiser since the start of BMX in England, being a boardmember of the National BMX Commission at GBBMXF and later on EBA. Later on this Commission went into Britisch Cycling where Scott's position was, promoting and running events. After this periode Scott concentrated more on the Hawks BMX Club  and for the past 10 years Scott has been commentating at the UK national series. Check out the complete CV of Scott Dick.
